Joplin Internal Medicine

Dr. Kimberly Wood, MD

Medical Marijuana Registration Clinic

Board Certified Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Kimberly Wood, MD has been caring for Southwest Missouri since receiving her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Founded in 1986, Joplin Internal Medicine Clinic is one of the areas most respected practices, having a long history of compassion and service. With a kind heart, Dr. Wood and her team strive to be warm and sympathetic to the needs of her patients.

Through much consideration, Dr. Wood is happy to announce that she is now providing medical marijuana exams, which includes a detailed assessment of your medical condition and history.  This is the first step to obtaining your medical marijuana license.  Once Dr. Wood approves you, you can then apply for the MMJ card from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).  This identification card will allow you to legally purchase medical marijuana from a Missouri state-licensed dispensary.

The Cannabis plant (also called Marijuana) contains 483 compounds known as cannabiniods and has been used to treat a variety of medical conditions. These include PTSD, Cancer, Crohn's Disease, Epilepsy, Muscle disorders, Nausea and chronic and sever pain, just to name a few.  With more and more attention being received for the medical benefits through recent studies, Dr. Wood is proud to offer this service to her community.
